HERITAGE HOMES OF HIMANCHAL

DELHI–SHIMLA-PALAMPUR-PARAGPUR-DHARAMSHALA-AMRITSAR-DELHI

Introduction
Himachal Pradesh literally means the " Land of snow " and can also be referred to as the '' Land of Gods ".  Nature here is sublime and beautiful, rugged and harsh, from the green meadows to the fertile valleys of Kangra and Kullu to the barren valleys of Lahoul and Spiti.   The elevation varies from 350m in the  foothills  of  Kangra to  6975 m  in  the higher ranges of  Lahoul  and  Parbati  Valleys.  Dharamshala has the second highest level of rainfall. Your visit includes the south and west Himanchal. Shimla, the stately summer capital of the Raj has Viceregal lodge, the Christ church and other Raj buildings. Paragpur is a “heritage” village with cobbled streets and slate-roof houses.  You also visit the orchards and tea gardens in Palampur. The mighty Dhauladhar in the back ground presents a memorable view.  An interesting highlight is the visit to Andrette which is home to a famous sikh painter Sir Sobha Singh and also the potter’s village.   Dharamshala is the current home to dalai Lama and you will visit his headquaters in McLeodgang. The sikh shrine of Golden temple at Amritsar is another highlight in this tour.  A complete experience of the erstwhile Panjab with valleys & hills and plains. Holiest places of worship for Sikhs and the Budhists today. Etc.. etc..blah blah. Accomdation in picturesque heritage palaces will give you a sense of the old world. The tour has an old world charm to it.
