Delhi – Neemrana – Samode – Dundlod – Khimsar – Jodhpur – Udaipur – Delhi        (10 Days / 9 Nights)





Day 01        Arrive Delhi


Met on arrival and transfer to hotel.



Day 02        Delhi


In the morning proceed for a sightseeing tour of the Old Delhi - a multi - layered city. Our first stop is the Red Fort built by the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan when he shifted his capital from Agra. A short drive brings us to the Great Mosque - The Jama Masjid. Drive on to see the memorial built for Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.



Afternoon Sightseeing tour of New Delhi includes a visit to the Qutub Minar - the tallest stone tower in India built in 1191 AD. Chhatarpur Temple - the most popular Hindu temple with blissful tranquility and serene ambience. Continue to Humayun's Tomb believed to have been designed by his widow.  Its plan is based on the description of Islamic paradise gardens and is known to have inspired the Taj Mahal and many later Mughal tombs. Also visit the Bahai Temple - a lotus shaped structure. It is made of marble, cement, dolomite and sand. It is open to all faiths and is an ideal place for meditation and obtaining peace and tranquility.

Day 03         Neemrana (Drive:150 km / 2 hrs)


Morning check-out of the hotel and proceed for Neemrana. Arrive and check into the hotel. Visit the Neemrana Fort and other nearby areas in the afternoon. The picturesque site of the Fort was chosen by Raja Rajdeo in 1464. This rugged architectural jewel rises to nine levels, covering 10 hectares. The stepped palaces sprawl over 1.2 hectares. Hanging gardens have now been laid along the southern ramparts. A short walk away lies the amazing underground stepwell that once also served as a caravan sarai.

Day 04         Neemrana – Samode (Drive: 135 km / 2 hrs)


Morning check-out of the hotel and leave for Samode, a place nestled among rugged hills. On  arrival, check into the hotel. Visit the Fort and the village during the day. The Fort is built on a small hillock and planned in a progression of courtyards of increasing height. In the mid 19th century, Rawal Sheo Singh, also the Chief Minister of Jaipur, was responsible for the extravagantly hand painted Darbar Hall and the breathtaking Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors).

Day 05         Samode - Dundlod


Morning check-out of the hotel and drive to Dundlod, a tiny village right in middle of the Shekhawati region. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Step into a bygone era as you enter Dundlod Fort that comes alive with its Mogul architecture, Louis XIV furniture, the rich collection of rare books and family portraits. In the afternoon visit the village with its chhatris and the frescoed havelis, the most well known one being that of the Goenka family.



Evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.



Day 06         Dundlod - Khimsar


Morning check-out of the hotel and depart for Khimsar. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Visit the Fort and nearby areas in the afternoon. Perched on the edge of the Great Thar Desert and set amidst calm rural surroundings, the Khimsar Fort is a massive edifice that seems to narrate the legendary tales of its builders, the founders of Jodhpur.



Evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.



Day 07         Khimsar - Jodhopur


Morning check-out of the hotel and drive to Jodhpur. Arrive and check-in at the hotel.



Later in the afternoon proceed for a sightseeing tour of Jodhpur visiting the Mehrangarh fort - the 5 km long majestic fort on a 125 meter high hill which is one of the most impressive and formidable structures. Although invincible from the outside, the fort has four gates approached by a winding road.


Jaswant Thada is a cluster of royal cenotaphs built in 1899 AD in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Within the main cenotaph are the portraits of various Jodhpur rulers.



Evening at leisure to explore the local market. Overnight at the hotel.



Day 08         Jodhpur – Udaipur (Drive: 260 km / 6 hrs)


In the morning leave for Udaipur. En route visit the 15th century Jain temples at Ranakpur. Ranakpur Jain Temples are Renowned for some marvelously carved Jain temples in amber stone. Ranakpur is one of the five holy places of the Jain community and these temples were created in the


15th century AD During the reign of Rana Kumbha and are enclosed within a wall.



The central Chaumukha or four faced temple is dedicated to the venerated Tirthankara  Rishabhji. Open on all four sides, it enshrines the four faced image of Adinath. Sprawling over 48,000 sq. feet, the temple is an astounding creation with 29 halls and 1,444 pillars - all distinctly carved.



Upon arrival in Jodhpur, check into the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.



Day 09         Udaipur


Udaipur is the city of Dawn, is a land around the azure water lakes, hemmed in by the lush hills of the Aravalis.


    


Morning proceed for the sightseeing of Udaipur city visiting the City Palace - A majestic architectural marvel towering over the lake on a hill surrounded by crenelated walls. It is a conglomeration of courtyards, pavilions, terraces, corridors, rooms and hanging gardens.  Jagdish Temple - Built in 1651 AD. By Maharana Jagat Singh. This Indo-Aryan temple is the largest and the most beautiful temple of Udaipur with noteworthy sculpted images.



Sahelion-ki-Bari - (Garden of the Maids of Honour) This small ornamental garden was a popular relaxing spot where royal ladies came for a scroll and hence the name. The garden has many fountains in its fourdelightful pools, chiseled kiosks and marble elephants.


 


Afternoon Boat ride on Lake Pichola, a picturesque lake that entranced Maharana Udai Singh. It was later enlarged by the founder.The lake is surrounded by hills, palaces, temples, bathing ghats and embankments. Two island palaces, Jag Mandir and Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) on the lake are of breathtaking magnificence.



Day 10         Udaipur – Delhi Departure


        (9W 708 – 1530 / 1640 hrs)


Check-out of the hotel and transfer to the airport in time to board your flight for Delhi, assistance on arrival and transfer to International airport to board your flight for onward destination.
