LESSER KNOWN GEMS OF RAJASTHAN

DELHI- SAMODE– (Ajmer en route) -NIMAJ- ROHETGARH (Jodhpur)– KUMBALGARH –DEVIGARH (Udaipur) – BOMBAY

Introduction
Rajasthan has very few places not over exposed to tourists. This tour is in quest of the smaller reaches and invites all those with a spirit of a bit of adventure. Accommodation in small palaces, hunting lodges and tents are a highlight and you see the arid jungles of Rajasthan in Kumbhalgarh, lakes in Udaipur and village life in Nimaj. Nimaj also offers a variety of avian fauna that come in huge numbers at the Chhatra Sagar Dam. Your hosts in Nimaj are the hospitable Rathore family. The richly decorated and elegantly managed Samode Palace is a unique experience. Visit to Ajmer exposes you to the world of Sufism at the renowned dargah of Moinudin Chisti. Other exclusives include a visit to the prayer ceremony at a Hindu Temple in Delhi; Rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi and a cultural evening with Indian folk dances in Rajasthan. Devigarh is a fort converted into a beautiful boutique hotel with minimal interiors concept. A relaxed stay here will rejuvinate your spirits while you take advantage of their spa & wellness programmes.

JEWELS OF INFORMATION

Sufism - "Mysticism is a practical spiritual discipline based on the insight of illuminated seekers after truth". It is in fact a mission of higher religious order of any faith, which disdains strife and conflict in any form. Joy of self-realisation being the essence of religion is experienced after a long spiritual practice. The mystics discard outward form of religion once they attain such joy. The concept of Sufism was therefore, to focus the mystic power on the spiritual dimension of Islam with a view to shield the believers from the outwardly and unrealistic dogma of the faith.
