Nubra Valley is popularly known as “Ldorma” or the valley of flowers. It is situated to the North of Ladakh between the Karakoram & Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. Nubra lies at an altitude of about 10,000 - ft above sea level.
Nubra is drained largely by the Shyok River. The Siachen River forms its single largest tributary. The tented camp is situated below Samstanling Gompa in Sumur village, which gives a spectacular view of the entire central part of the Nubra valley.
Day 01: Leh - Sumoor –Over Khardong La- 5503 mtrs
After break fast drive to Sumoor village 120 kms; (6-7 hrs) over Khardong La, the highest motorable road pass in the world. The view from the top of this pass is amazing. One can see all the way south over the Indus Valley to the seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range. After crossing the pass, drive another 80 kms; (2-3 hrs) across the river Shyok to reach Sumoor village. Overnight at Sumoor Camp (10320 ft.).
Day02: Sumoor–Disket- ht 3300mtrs-Hundar-ht 10650 ft - Sumoor
Bacterian camel safari subjects to availability. Drive to Hundar, en route visit Disket. The monastery is 200 mtrs up from the village on the hill. See the Disket monastery perched on a rock overhanging a stream, which is the source of energy, used by the mills of the monastery. The monastery is full of Tangkas (silk paintings), magnificent giant statues of the Buddha and old mural paintings in which can be noted a multitude of influences. Overnight in camp at Sumoor.
Day 03: Sumoor – Leh - by surface
After breakfast drive to Leh over Khardung la. Afternoon rest & relax or take a walk to the local market. Overnight at Guest House/hotel.

Leh - Saboo - Leh

Some eight kilometers, east of Leh lies the delightful little village of Saboo. Situated at an elevation of 4040 mtrs above sea level, this village nestles between two south stretching spurs of the Ladakh Range, with its houses scattered across extensive fields and pasturelands.
Ladakh Sarai sites at the village of Ayu (Saboo), just 6 kms (10-minutes drive) from Leh. Ladakh Sarai faces the majestic Stok Kangri range, with the Indus River flowing below. Yurts (huts) have been specially fabricated by hand and retain characteristics of the original Central Asian and Mongolian akois, on which they are modeled. The rendezvous for meals is an attractive hexagonal building, designed after a traditional Ladakhi house, complete with a Buddhist chapel.
Day 01: Leh - Saboo by surface
After breakfast drive to Saboo 8 kms from Leh. On arrival a traditional welcome followed by welcome tea. After tea visit a traditional Ladakhi kitchen, where you can see how Gur Gur Tea (Butter tea) & also how the local alcohol "Chang" is prepared.
Take a walk up to the Saboo monastery. From the monastery you get a spectacular view of the Stok village situated at the foot of the Stok Kangri, which overlooks the Indus Valley below the Stok village. Walk along the village side visiting the local people. Afternoon rest & relax or walk by the streamside to relax. Overnight in Camp.
Day 02: Saboo - Leh by surface
Early morning take a walk around the Saboo village to view the people working in the fields. Back to the Camp site for a late breakfast. After breakfast drive back to Leh. Afternoon take a walk to the Leh local markets & visit the Ladakh Art Palace & Tibetan Handicrafts Center. Overnight at your hotel.
EXTENSION PACKAGE TO TSO KAR & TSOMO RIRI
Leh-Tso Kar-Tsomo Riri-Leh

Tsomo Riri & Tso Kar; these high altitude lakes are situated in the Rupshu region of eastern Ladakh. Tsomo Riri is surrounded by mountains and is formed by a tributary of the Spiti River. This rare habitat attracts the Bare head Goose, which breeds around the inlets of the lake during the summer months.
Tso Kar is another brackish lake and the nomadic inhabitants, the Changpas, trade with merchants from the rest of Ladakh.
Day 01:Leh – Tso Kar- ht 4530 mtrs - by surface
After early breakfast, drive to Tso Kar Lake. Tso Kar means salt water. En route visit the Upshi village, and then drive over the Taklang La pass (5260 Mtrs) which is the second highest road pass in the world. Towards the south the route overlooks the settlements of the nomadic Changpas, with their large herds of yaks & sheep. Continue your drive and cross the Kumur La pass to reach Tsokar. Evening free to explore the surrounding areas of the lake. Overnight in Camp.
Day 02:Tso Kar - Tsomo Riri by surface
After breakfast, drive to the high altitude brackish lake of Tsomo Riri, which is 28 kms long and 8 kms wide, surrounded by lofty mountains. The lake is so salty that salt is
Procured from its margins and is sold all over Ladakh & Kashmir. Overnight stay
in tents near the lake.
Day 03: Tsomo Riri
Full day free to explore the surroundings of the lake. It lies intensely blue among bare brown hills. A kilometer ahead is the picturesque village of Korzok comprising of about a hundred families. Visit the Gompa set on top of the village. The Gompa is about
350 years old and has about 35 resident monks. Overnight in your tents.
Day 04:Tsomo Riri - Leh –drive 170 kms; approx. 7hrs
After breakfast drive along the rough dusty track through remote countryside to Leh. Other than the Korzok village there are no villages en route except for the occasional nomad (Changpas) settlement of two or three tents. From Chumathang the drive is down stream along the river Indus, crossing the villages of Gaite, Mahe, Ugu and Karu to reach Leh. Evening free to rest and relax. Overnight stay at hotel.
