Kerala – Land of Emerald
Mumbai- Cochin– Periyar– Kumarakom – Kovalam – Poovar – Mumbai (12 Days / 11 Nights)
Day 01: Arrive Mumbai
Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Mumbai
Morning proceed for an excursion to Elephanta Caves, across the harbour you will see the world famous Elephanta Caves - 1200 years old and dedicated to Lord Shiva. The famous sculpture signifying the Trinity of the Creator, the Preserver and the Destroyer is situated here.
The city’s long association with the British is reflected in the old world charm of its buildings made in the Indo-Saracen style. Some of the well-known landmarks are the Gateway of India at Apollo Bunder overlooking the harbour.
Later in the day proceed for a half day city tour of Mumbai visiting the Prince of Wales Museum, Marine drive, Mani Bhawan (Gandhi House), Flora Fountain, Kamla Nehru Park and finally to the Hanging gardens.
Evening at leisure to explore the local market. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Mumbai – Cochin

Check-out of the hotel and transfer to the airport in time to board your flight for Cochin. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel.
Later in the day explore Cochin, a port city with a rich past and bustling present. Kochi is an attractive city with serene back-waters, golden sunsets, lagoons. Which are overhung with feathery coconut palms. It also has picturesque Islands-Vypeen, willingdon, Ramanthuruth, Vallarpadam and Bolghatty - all of which contribute to its beautiful cityscape. The interesting Jewish Synagogue - the oldest in India and the Mattancherry Palace of the former maharajas form part of this picturesque city. Also visit Chinese fishing nets rest on their cantilevered stands. The technique came from Kubla Khan’s court and till date serves the purpose.
In the evening enjoy Kathakali dance (Dance & Drama performance). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04: Cochin – Periyar (Drive: 195 km / 5 hrs)
Check-out of the hotel and drive to Thekkady. Arriver and check-in at the hotel,
Later in the afternoon visit the Periyar Lake which lies at the heart of the sanctuary which is a veritable paradise for all wildlife lovers. One can view the animals in their natural surroundings while cruising on the lake, or better still come within a few feet of a herd of wild elephants. The majestic gaur, deer, wild boar and the distinctive Nilgiri langur are often spotted along the lake, as also water birds.
Periyar’s wildlife variety includes the tiger, sambar, barking deer, mouse deer, the nilgiri tahr, wild dog, porcupine, lion tailed macaque, Malabar squirrel and the sloth bear. The reserve has also
attractions for the bird watcher as varieties of birds like the hornbill, blue winged parakeet, whistling thrush, flycatcher and water birds are to be seen here.

Day 05: Periyar – Kumarakom ( 200 km / 6 hrs)
Check-out of the hotel and proceed for Kumarakom. Kumarakom slumbers on the banks of the famous Vembanad Lake, which is a part of Kuttanad ('granary' of Kerala). The Vembanad Lake with its majestic canals, streams and distributaries along its banks weave an intricate and enchantingly beautiful web. The gorgeous green of the fringed palms ripple in the blue waters and blend into wavelets.
On the southern bank of Kavanar river, is a small bird sanctuary where numerous species of birds, including Darters, Bitterns, Brahminy kites, Marsh Harries, Teals and several varieties of Herons roost. For an inquisitive bird watcher..

Day 06: Kumarakom

Day 07: Kumarakom - Houseboat
Check-out of the hotel and board the Deluxe Houseboat which cruises along Kerala’s scenic Backwaters - a unique web of lakes, lagoons, canals and rivers - are an integral part of Kerala’s Tourism Scenario. Day 08: Houseboat – Kovalam (Drive: 135 km / 4 hrs)
Morning de board the houseboat and drive to Kovalam. Arrive and check-in at the hotel, rest of the day free for leisure at the beach. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 09: Kovalam
Morning proceed for a sightseeing tour of Thiruananthapuram, derived from Thiru- Anantha-Puram is believed to be the abode of Anantha, the sacred serpent on which Lord Vishnu reclines. A towering gopuram majestically rising above a red-tiled skyline marks the site of the age old Sri-Padmanabhaswamy Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This seven-storey gopuram reflected in the placid temple pool, is a fine specimen of Dravidian architectural style. Also visit Napier Museum with its priceless collection of bronzes. Within the museum compound is the Chitralayam Art Gallery displaying its collection of Indian and foreign paintings. The Trivandrum public park has on its grounds the Natural History Museum. Rest of the day free for leisure at the beach.

Day 10: Kovalam – Poovar (50 Kms / 45 min)
Check-out of the hotel and proceed for Poovar - an un spoilt and unexplored serene backwaters. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day at leisure and enjoy the facilities at your floating villa, overnight stay.
Day 12: Poovar – Trivandrum (Drive: 60 km/ 2 hrs) / Trivandrum – Mumabi
